Huelva

The history of the Port of Huelva dates back to ancient times, having been a major trade hub since Phoenician times. During the Modern Age, it became a strategic port for trade links with America. At the end of the 19th century, it was transformed with the expansion of its facilities, which significantly boosted its commercial activity. In the 20th century, it consolidated its position as a key location for trade and industry, accommodating the needs of modern maritime transport.

Ership Group, under the direction of Don Juan Alvargonzález, a shipowner and prominent figure in the shipping industry, expanded its operations by managing Explosivos Río Tinto in 1970, thus establishing its expansion out of Asturias towards Huelva.
